Oh now y'all wanna talk about soccer...

For those of you who have spent the last few days of your life under a rock on a distant planet, the United States may have made a bit of a splash in the World Cup Wednesday. Here's a 3 minute recap.

I think it's time for American sportswriters to stop hating so hardcore on soccer. When it's not World Cup season, all I hear are snide comments about the, truly, beautiful game. Now that Donovan and the boys have swept the country off their feet, everyone has suddenly jumped on soccer's bandwagon. Yes, a few players, mostly Europeans, like to flop every time a defender exhales on them within 30 yards of the box, but I'm sorry. That's part of the game. Hop off soccer's nuts and accept it for the thrill ride that it is. Who cares if goals don't come often. When they do, they mean a whole lot more than a point in basketball, baseball, hockey, football, tennis.. I could go on. At the end of the day, all that matters is its fans' appreciation, which, by the way, is worldwide. Just ask these people.

So naw, don't even support us now all y'all fairweather fans.
