We botched our best chance of reaching the semi-finals.. ever. We will never get a draw like that again. Never. The only better situation for us would have been to be grouped with North Korea (who lost a few of their players when they fled the team and their country upon setting foot in South Africa), France (who completely self-destructed on the training pitch), and maybe Cameroon. But even they have Inter Milan's Eto'o, who can poke one in when you least expect it. You can't ask for much more than Algeria and Slovenia, not to mention a limping, unorganized England.
Should have beaten Ghana. Apparently they have our number, and they've had it for 4 years now. Don't want to think about our close loss to them last World Cup, where Pimpong, no joke, Pimpong, put the nail in our coffin with a late goal.
I feel bad for Donovan, who will likely not see another World Cup.Feel bad for Tim Howard too. He played his heart out, was the obvious most talented U.S. player, and wanted it the most, but defensive mistakes ultimately sent us home.
I got no problem with the vuvuzelas. It's part of the World Cup, stop complaining. Every team has to deal with it. There's no advantage created by it, proven by the fact that South Africa are now watching the games from their houses down the street.
I'm impressed by the two big failuers: France and Italy. Brazil needs to stop playing like they're entitled to the World Cup. At this point, I'd love to see the Black Stars win it all. That would certainly get the world buzzing.
